Adopted
So alien was a world of love to me I lived in an eddy of fear Never a warm embrace A soft word A warm heart near Moments of peace would quickly flee Always moving Never to stay Empty sadness Followed As alone I played Can’t they see Can’t they see this little boy With such great needs His deep blue eyes Searching to find A family A family I could call mine I did meet them one day The family The family that did want me to stay We met at the park Something new Something changed Peace and joy A warm embrace A new love grew And yet I remained So afraid that they would come again And tear me away From my newfound home I so wanted to stay She held me close as if to pray The promise of a warm heart I was hers No one could take me away The knot untied Tears held for years washed my face As love deeply rooted itself in place And much the same As a man Held in God’s warm embrace Adorned in the risen Son’s name Fully loved Fully accepted By a miracle called Grace Just Jeremy ©2005 Just Jeremy
